Timing question Hey everyone. I have a Scangauge device which is pretty cool. Tells you info about your car and such. Anyway, I was wondering, according to it, my timing is never advanced, always retard. Usually between -17 and -25 when driving around. Is this normal? I always use 93 Octane fuel. However, I am getting pretty bad gas mileage.

Same question for me.. i noticed with my scanner it says like -5 to -10 on idle.. going WOT it will be like -30+ i think that it is just confused and its really + .. but maybe someone can shed some light on this.

i have a scan gauge also and it usually runs between 10 and 25 advance. never retarded... might be ur knock sensor pulling time. do u have headers? if u do you need to have the LT4 knock module installed because the stock LT1 knock module is very sensitive to noises that the headers create. this is only one possibility...
