Any name brand plug with history will suit you fine. With the advent of internet experts, many would lead you to believe that one specific brand spark plug and part # is the way to go. It's ridiculas that people on internet sites actually list their spark plugs when they show their engines modifications.

Personally, I use Autolite cut back strap race plugs, even in street driven performance cars. For one, they are American made and two, I have never had one go bad in 30 years of racing. Like I said above, any name brand plug with history will give you good performance and life.

Don't bother waisting your cash on gimmicky plugs. Platinum fusion or Platinum +4 or diamond fire etc. are all ways marketing geniuses have devised to grab more market share.

I personally run NGKs in my street rides, and the race cars have autolites. I do think they are different animals as the race cars run much more juice through the plug wires.

Me personally... I'll run just about anything BUT a Champion. Just nothing but bad luck with them.
Agree with most above though.

I'll tell ya one wierd as hell thing with my car/PCM/engine.

My engine will not run with Bosch 02 sensors, it just sits and sputters and coughs and if I try to put it in gear and go it stalls. The same exact thing happens if I install Bosch spark plugs.

Thats some wierd **** right there. Its like my PCM doesn't want Bosch on the car.

If I pull the Bosch 02 sensors out and install GM or Densos...perfect.
Same with the plugs....pull them and put in AC Delco or NGK...perfect.

I've also tried those polugs with the two electrodes for better sprak coverage....had zero effect on my engine and so expensive, like $6.00 per plug.

Maybe my engine/PCM just likes the most basic of things Regular oil, paper air filters, regular spark plugs, cheap serpentine belts that last 6+ years, still have my factory 11+ year old spark plug wires, etc....

Years ago, like in the mid 70's, the biggie was AC plugs. We quit using them in the shop once we got a new scope in and could see that they were shorting out as they came out of the box. I think they had some other issues, but don't remember for sure.

I changed my original plugs at 75K. I also changed the wires. I went with original plugs because my car loves them and they last forever. I bought this car brand new in 1998 and I now have 93K on it. It is a dd with minor mods and modest power. See sig for details and Dyno info. Nothing special. The point I am making is that it all depends on what you use your car for.

This site is loaded with many valid opinions based on experience and you can easily turn into a wall banger. All you have to do is a search and you can read for the next two days about spark plugs and which is the best and what to set the gap at.

You also may want to consider how often you would like to change the plugs. The originals are expensive but will save you the heartache of the most difficult plug change ever experienced by mankind. These cars are a buster! The first seven will take about 10 mins. and the eighth (i forget what the official number of the plug) will take an hour and a pound of flesh.

Make sure you apply a little anti-seize on the new plugs to make the next change a little easier.

Do a search so you know what to expect for this task. Their is some great advice and tools that many have used to make the job easier.

Welcome to the party!

Expensive? You mean AC Delco plugs. They're about the cheapest plugs on the market. I use NGK, they're like $16.00 for all 8.

Any LSx engine, whether its stock or 600 hp.....as long as its not a nitrous or a forced induction set-up.......NGK TR55 gapped @ .050 will be perfect for them all.

I've done .040, .045, .050, .055 and .060. On my stock engine and on my 427ci....zero difference in them all.
