Default Squeaking coming from inside the car?

It's aggravating me. I haven't been able to locate anything loose or anything. It's a high-pitched squeaking that's really there when I'm driving on a bump road.

It's NOT the creaking from the shocks and such. This is like a rattling/squeaking.

Any idea?

I have the same thing on this car and also on my previous 2000 T/A. I have had some success with white lithium grease on the rear seat back bracket/latch. Also, shoot some on the hinge at the bottom where the rear seat folds down.

Try that or turn the stereo up more!!

If U had headers?

Well I would think from under the dash area... that is what happened to my 02 SS! I can just push my shifter area to the side ond it goes away.

I don't have headers.

Hm. I'll have to the rear seats then. I'll go shake them a bit. lol.

It only squeaks when I'm going over a rough road or whatever. When I'm a smooth road, the car is nice and quiet.

My passenger seat had a bolt loose, made an annoying noise. Snugged the bolt back down and the noise went a way.

Did it happen only when he was driving on rough roads?

nope. anywhere....just like first 2 minutes of driving for me. but for my neighbor it was worse. i read some article by GM talkin bout how the aluminum driveshat squeaked after some time cause of the power our cars make and to cut back weight they didnt use steel. but this is just a guess.

I have the same problem. Check your springs in the rear. Mine squeaks like an sob,so I'm going to pull it and do the hose mod, that should take care of it.. If you jack it up and pull on the spring, you will hear it big time.. The pass side doesn't do it on mine..

Squeaks and rattles are standard equipment on F-Bodies.

Check to be sure your spare tire is snug. That is if it's still in the car. It could be rubbing back there if it has some give. What i would do is drive your car and have a friend ride around in the back seat and listen for the squeak to pinpoint where its comming from.

Yeah, and as soon as you do that... it'll stop bc there is now more weight in the car and because of it the car now doesn't twist the same.

Now the panels back there like to bounce around in my car, so I'd say check them too.

I checked the panels, and they didn't make any noise when I shook them. I'll have to check the spare and coax someone into sitting back there. lol.

Mine has the same squeak caused by the folding rear seat back. It was the bolt where the hinge is located. I noticed the squeak went away when I drove with it folded down and would come back when the seat was upright. Tightening it would stop the noise but the bolt would loosen again after a couple weeks. Yours sounds like it's the same thing, I would check that area...
