Only Defrost Vent Blowing... Hey guys,
Stopped at a job site to do some computer work. When I started to leave, I noticed that only my defrost vent was blowing no matter what setting I turned it to.
I've never messed with the HVAC system, so I'm not even sure where to begin. Did a quick search here on the forum and didn't come up with much.
Is there a particular fitting that is known to go bad over time? Any tips on where to start looking?

Have you recently messed with/ removed the intake manifold lately? There is a small plastic vacuum line that plugs into a rubber gromet on the back of the intake by the MAP sensor.
If this is disconnected it will cause this same thing to happen. Does the ac switch freely spin?

I know the vacuum line you are referring to. I'll check it out. Thanks guys.
There is also a vacumn switch near the firewall on the passenger side of the car. Three or four vacumn line connect and sometimes this will break. I also had a leak near the battery on a vacumn line. You might check those two places.
