I have a 99. On mine I turn the key on, don't start it tho, and press the gas pedal all the way to the floor 3 times. Thats how I reset mine. I think there is another way, but don't know. It runs off a preset formula for deciding when the oil needs changed. Just have to reset it.

You can do that or put the key in accessory mode and hold the trip/odometer reset for 10+ seconds till it turns off

Use good oil(synthetic) and click here> https://ls1tech.com/forums/general-m...l#post12332075

That's a little bit of my own research.

and best way to reset light is turn key to on, but do not start, hold trip for 12sec and then the light will flash and you're good till the computer tells you to change the oil

Just wanted to say that "oil light" has been doing the same thing. I changed the oil today and expected the light to stay of for good... however, the next time I got in to drive around the damn things came on again. I tried holding the odometer reset button down for 10 seconds and the light has not come back on again. So KUDOS

The reset procedure is different for many vehicles. Check your owners manual. It will tell you how to reset it. Or call a tech with year make and model. They should be able to look it up. Sometimes you have to do the reset procedure a couple of times.
