Default Help! starter removal

so my starter went out and i got a lower miles gm replacement. i got the two wires connecting to the solenoid off as well as the two bolts holding the starter in place. it looked like it would be a tight fit removing the starter past the y pipe but looked like it would fit. however i can not get it out. has anyone found a way to remove and replace the starter without unbolting the y pipe?
btw car is a 94 LT1 A4

Unbolt the y-pipe. Don't attempt to remove the solenoid while the starter in on the car.

well guys i solved my own problem here. after struggling with those seized y pipe bolts and then trying to remove it from the front with no success. i simply took the four bolts off of my flywheel cover and dropped it right. prolly took five minutes.
i cant believe i didnt think of it before, but hey who doesnt drop the ball every now and then
