fuel pump wont prime!

fuel pump wont prime! the car is a 2001 WS6 heads/cam and bolt ons. I've been having trouble with the fuel pump not priming lately. I go to start it and the car will fire for a second then cut off and i have no fuel pressure. 99% of the time it only does it on warm starts(10-30 minutes after the car shuts off after reaching operating temp). I just replaced with fuel pump with a walboro pump but it had no effect. The strange part is if i unhook the battery, wait 10 seconds, and hook it back up the pump comes to life and the car stars right up. any ideas?
