Default fuel pump wont prime!

the car is a 2001 WS6 heads/cam and bolt ons. I've been having trouble with the fuel pump not priming lately. I go to start it and the car will fire for a second then cut off and i have no fuel pressure. 99% of the time it only does it on warm starts(10-30 minutes after the car shuts off after reaching operating temp). I just replaced with fuel pump with a walboro pump but it had no effect. The strange part is if i unhook the battery, wait 10 seconds, and hook it back up the pump comes to life and the car stars right up. any ideas?

how did you check the relay? the relays can get faulty and start to stick, so when you remove the battery it will loose voltage to the relay and it resets itself
