trip meter resets it self. The trip meter on my 99'Z resets every time I turn the car off? The gauges also make a full sweep before they work normal once started. the gas gauge is also acting crazy once and awile. Any ideas? Thanks for looking. Matt

battery is low
happened to me for a while when i wasn't driving often, and when i did it was very short trips.
either fully recharge or replace the battery.

My '99 Trans am did that too. I remember seeing that it was a problem with the cluster, that year only. Mine would only do it when it was cold outside.
