I just did what you told me to do an it moved an then shot the spring an end part so I think it's broken now.

Shot the spring out of the unit?

First of all, this is exactly what happens when you operate an IAC when it isn't in the hole. This not the right way to check it.

Secondly, you can put it back together if you have the spring and the plunger. If you hold the pieces together with your thumb while turning the key on (or off, I forget), the plunger will screw itself back together.

Wow that's amazing, because that is how you test it, the spring should only move 1/2 inch at most in or out. And it does not shoot off, its more of a turning to compress and release the spring.

As seen in this video I just made, the spring should not "fly off" and this shows proper operation of the unit.
