Default Car shakes and lacks power randomly

Car has been shaking while driving at low speeds or at idle. I had a tune up done and even bought a new battery cause mine was about four years old already. The car drove fine for a few weeks only i just drove it short distance. Yesterday after driving it a little further than usual it began shaking while at a red light and the service engine soon light came on. I tried starting the car it cranked but would turn over. I tried a few more times and nothing. After a good 45 minutes the car started up and I was able to drive to my home with no problems. However the service engine light remained on. I was finally by a code scanner and the only code I pulled out was

P0336- Crankshaft position sensor circuit, range or performance problem

Could this be the sensor itself or might something else be throwing this code?

Thanks in advanced

Thats exactly what a failing Crank Shaft Position sensor will do. It will run perfect...then stall...then be hard to start....then run perfect...then run roufh and miss and stumble...then run perfect.

Get a new one.

Well, I'm assuming you have a 1998-2002 F-Body.

Just drop the starter down and its right there.

Put your year and a short description of your car in your signature.....

LS6427 is a good guy, very helpful.

Definitely put your vehicle information in your signature, speeds up some things.
