Default Car running hot

I just bought a 93 5.7l trans am. It's running at about 240 degrees. Just replaced the thermostat and it now has heat but its still running this hot. Wondering whats going on. Any thoughts?

Is this when you're sitting in your driveway, or going down the road at 30mph or better?
