Default removing front bumper, scared of airbags deploying...

I'm removing the front facia and bumper support as well as the front cross-member of the frame. I'm scared I might deploy the airbags, which would be BAD haha. If I disconnect the battery will I be safe from airbag deployment? Or will I be safe period while taking these parts off. How does the airbag module work when deploying airbags?

With the battery disconnected there should be no way for it to deploy. Although I have never really looked at an F-body airbag system, I can tell you it takes more force than you could deliver with a hammer to set it off. Just disconnect the battery and you'll be golden

Disconnect battery and wait 10 minutes. SDM has capacitors inside that will maintain power for a short period of time after it loses its power source. This is designed this way incase your vehicle loses power in the midst of an accident and still needs the bags deployed.

You will be fine.

+1 obviously you need some kind of power to make anything work with these cars. He is absolutely right.
