Rear End Squek - Fixed
Afternoon everyone,
Car is a 2002 Trans Am, I have a squeak coming from the passenger side rear. I believe it is the e-brakes. Things I have already done is grease all the bushings back there, made sure all the tires were properly inflated, the car has new brakes and rotors (4,000 miles ago). I took that side of the car apart and adjusted the e-brakes all the way in, drove it and the noise went away. So I think that is the problem. When I pulled on the e-brake handle 3 times though the noise came back. Is there anything I can do to fix this permanently. Not sure where to go from here.
UPDATE - I replaced the rear brake hardware on both sides and then bleed the rear brakes and it seems to have fixed the problem.
Thanks in advance,
John

Sounds like something in your e-brake is hanging up and not releasing. The only adjustment I know of is is the one you have already tried on the bottom of the e-brake after you remove the wheel and rotor. I would try to drive say 10mph and make a few stops with the e-brake and see if that helps
