I changed my oil/filter in November before I stored the car away. The car has been sitting untouched since. I maybe put ~100 miles on the new oil just to drive it to the storage place. Now I am going to be taking it out of storage and I want to change the oil again. I am going with a different oil then I had in there before. But my question is do I need to change out the filter? I know its just $12 bucks for another filter, but I dont want to just throw a good filter away if I dont have to...

Just change the filter. A wix filter is no more than $7. Cheap insurance IMO Especially if you're changing the type of oil.
