LS6427's opinion the OEM GM belt tentioner seems like a pretty good part to me after 205,000 + miles and it still performs like it did when new....I have shifted this car countless times at 7,000 rpms and have never thrown a belt ...
Some day when you have more torque you WILL throw the belts when you wack the throttle, its a very common problem with engines that actually have power. Call Katech and ask them WHY they designed the fixed tensioner, thn you'll understand.

If you had a Katech tensioner, you would have 205,000 miles on your first belt.

And really, who gives a damn how many miles YOU got out of your factory tensioner......its a piece of **** design that wears out and looses its tension pretty early for most people.

Its just so hard to talk to walls sometimes.

Well since it works for 99% of the cars produced I will keep with it.

You have no clue on how much HP and TQ I produce and by looking at your sig with 427 cubic inches your output is hardly what I would consider a torque monster .. I work at a Chevy dealership and I would say that the GM belt tensioner is a very good part...as I said before mine has 205,000+ miles on it and it is still operating as it was designed ... when I replaced my belts it was because I was using a different size pulley not because they were worn out ... and hundreds of power shifts at 7,000 rpms without a belt being thrown speaks for itself...I know that you will reply with some more of your never ending BS ... Katech should pay your for at much nut hugging as your doing ... we will just have to agree to disagree on this one dude...

I would rather get the alternator relocation bracket then a katech.
