Default Bad coil?

Okay so a couple of weeks ago I did a header install as well as swapped the LS1 intake for a LS6. It ran fine for a day or two then started misfiring/stuttering/backfiring. I checked the plugs and wires and saw that the wire for #6 had come off completely and was just dangling there so I put it back on the plug. This did not fix my problem so I did the next step and replaced my spark plugs and wires. It started running a little better but is still doing the same thing. It stutters and backfires when I give it just enough throttle in the lower rpm range. I've done all the obvious things (i.e. checked for vaccum leaks, checked the O2's, etc.) I even checked my fuel pressure and that was good.
My question is, could that plug wire coming off my spark plug cause my coil for that cylinder to go bad?

I've done a TON of searching and have found nothing. I'm only asking because I would hate to buy a coil and find out that wasn't the problem.

P.S.- It hasn't thrown any codes.

Switch coils around to see if it moves, if not its most likely the intake leaking in that cylinder area.

see...i would like to do this, but it isn't throwing any codes so I'm not sure which cylinder is missing.

it would throw a code most likely... sounds like sealing issues with the intake IMO>

possibly. but it ran fine for the first couple of days after the install, then all of a sudden started running like crap. that's when i noticed the plug wire had come off. and while searching I have come across other guys who were having the same problem but weren't throwing any codes. only problem is there's never any follow up to say what it was that they ended up fixing to get it running right. so i'm stumped.
A couple of buddies say it just needs a tune. It is running very lean. I've had it hooked up to HPT. We tried tuning the VE tables using the fuel trims but made no progress. It just leaned out even more after we tried correcting it.

With the car running and missing just pull one plug and see if it affects the engine idle. If it does you know that its working right. If its not you at least know what cylinder is haveing the problem.
