So today, my car wouldn't start. Got a jump, and it started right up. Turned the car off then back on immediately, wouldn't start. I figured it was my battery, so I got another jump and headed down to Autozone to have it tested. Along the way, my car BARELY idled, and my gauges were going ape ****. Also, my headlights were flickering that night when I tried driving it.

Does this sound like my alternator?

Yup - did you have AZ test the alt?

Do you have a volt meter to see how much voltage you have when the engine is running?

Start the car and unplug the battery. If the car stays running the alternator is working as it should and providing enough voltage to keep the car running. If the car dies then the alt is no working.

What does your voltage gage on the dash say??? When mine went bad the check gages light came on and I was running about 8 volts....
