AC issue. i'm confused
AC issue. i'm confused My ac is blowing hot air. it didnt gradually get warmer...well i dont know...cause it worked late fall, never used it over the winter, and this spring it was jsut plain hot.
diagnosis: cluth is not engaging... relay clicks but clutch does nothing. pulled off the harness and there was no voltage, HOWEVER, when my buddy plugged in his hp tuners scanner and engaged the clutch i got voltage, but it still never engaged. so it seems i have a wiring issue, however, it still didnt work when there was voltage to the harness...
could i have a switch problem AND a bad compressor??? any thoughts please

ok well i tried to jump the clutch, but i cant really get access to the terminals. whats the easiest way to do this? also, where is the pressure sensor, i would like to try jumping that as well however i cant find it. my book says "on the evaporator inlet line" though i'm not very familiar with ac components and cant find it. a picture would be fantastic...

Verdad Gallardo and also, i was told if i was low on pressure my clutch may not engage....(though maybe it should've with the hp tuners)

My ac worked fine one day. three months later it was warm. i tried giving it some coolant and it wouldnt take any. i then did some work which required removing ac condensor, therefore, system was drained. i'm trying to refill it though my clutch will not engage.(and only gets voltage when commanded by hp tuners)

well as far as relay jumping, i tried that too. i'm not an electronics expert so i just tired every combo of terminals and nothing happened. would that imply that it is done and time for a new one? woulc the pressure senser still keep it from kickin on? could i have a broken wire?

You can get the clutch engaged with HP tuners I think, but that's really the high dollar approach when you can accomplish the same thing with 2 alligator clips and a dime's worth of wire.
Your A/C started blowing warm probably from a refrigerant leak. If you can get the clutch to engage, you'll be able to charge it. Then all you have to do is find and fix the leak.
You need to get the system to work in some fashion before you can troubleshoot any farther.

If your ac is clicking that means the clutch is probably engaging...check the pressure...if its good then you probably have an internal leak in your compressor...I'm not there to see it, but thats what it sounds like to me....
ok so i jumped what i thought was the pressure sensor and my fans kicked on. is this normal? i didn't hear any clicks comin from the compressor....and wouldnt take a charge....
