Knock Sensor help I have to replace the rear knock sensor in the Firehawk today
I have a f-body comrade coming by to help but wanted suggestions, tips, advice on the job.
I have read the write ups listed on the forum already on how to change out the knock sensor. Any information, pictures, write-ups could help. Thanks-Ed

I need pics please Just follow the ls1howto on taking out the intake, carefully maneuvering the vacuum line around the OPSU. When you replace the knock sensor, replace them both and check the knock sensor harness and the pigtails for corrosion. Seal them up w/ copper sealant or HD duct tape from the moisture.
I dont know about putting any kind of sealer on, Unless he was referring to the caps that are on the harness,,I put antiseize on the threads, make sure that you torque them to spec, do not overtighten,,it will cause all kinds of problems,,, ask me how I know go ahead...

I did plan on using something to seal up those rubbery grommet covers over the knock sensor. My concern is the removal of the intake. I've never had to work on an LS1 before..that damn motor is far back in there!!
Is there any lines, wiring, etc..i should be really careful not to break?
I know that those knock sensor connectors are flimsy especially after being exposed to all that engine heat. I'm going to try and be careful not to crack that connection.

Why not throw a LS6 intake on while pulling the stocker?

I really didn't want to have any modifications done to the Hawk. Trying to keep her original..but it wouldn't hurt

Still haven't knocked out the knock sensor. 
I'm going to hit up the Western tribe see if anybody from around here would be down to help (strictly supervising I'll do the wrenching).

one piece of advice man is to buy an ac delco sensor I bought mine on the internet for the same price as a knock off at autozone. I had 3 different sensors from the stores and all the 3 took a crap some in less than a week I put oem ones in and theyve been great to me.

A friend added that I need to perform a pcm idle learn procedure after I install the knock sensors. Can anyone elaborate on this especially since I have had my car tuned with a superchips programmer?
