usually rotten egg smell means bad cats but like nimrod said your o2's may have made them go bad

I'm thinking of finding somewhere to gut my cats and just run sims. This has been a nightmare.

Try to get her to run for a few seconds. Then look under the car and see if they are glowing red.

You might be able to have your cats replaced by GM for free, there was a recall a while back. My brother had his cats replaced for free 4 months ago.

When I start it after resetting the ecu, it will die about a minute into it running. Sounds like whistling from the exhaust.

Im thinking that its waiting for closed loop... Comes closed loop, comes totally confused O2's...

My guess is; that without reseting the ecm, it will realize its ready for closed loop. And it is going to closed loop immediately, or close to, after startup. So after reseting, your in open loop a little longer (not using your O2's). Again, this is all just a guess.

Unbolt CATS to see if there are any changes. If so, gut CATs or replace (replace as long as there are no other issues). Also verify there are no other kinks or damage to the exhaust.

Like said before; Other problem couldve killed the CATs, or the CATs could have been the problem in the first place.

All the rear O2's do is tell the PCM how well/if the CAT's are doing thier job. You will get an SES light/code. To rid yourself of said light; sims or tune out.

I got lucky and meet up with someone who had HPT. I had him tune out all the emmissions stuff. Well not really a tune, all its saying is to not report.

You may hear an occasional pop from the exahust after going WOT (burning unburnt fuel). Other than that it wont change a thing. You may even gain a couple of ponies over new CATs (disputed).

You may also notice that your exhaust smell will be a bit stronger.

Cars dead in a parking lot now... Starts and dies. Can only move at 10mph then dies... Can't get it home..

Your fuel pump is bad. Yes it will throw 02 codes.

ROTTEN EGG SMELL=FUBAR! you got bad fuel ...you are smelling the sulfer that SHOULDN'T be there...it will ruin all kinds of things.
