overheating & oil gauge going nuts? Questions inside!
Today was the first time in awhile i've been in steady no-go traffic for about half hour at least. The temp gauge was reading higher than normal (210ish +) and the oil gauge was dropping to 20psi and shaking at times. Is this normal? Or is there anything i can do? The only thing i'm thinking of doing as of now is replacing the oil pressure switch. I'm not sure about a lower thermostat since my knowledge on them is pretty low. One would make the car run better correct? but go to low or if your car goes through cold winters it'll run crappy?
Some help please.

Put a real gauge on your car to check your oil pressure, don't go by the dash gauge. You don't say what your car is, but if it's newer you can reprogram the fans to come on at a lower temp. If you do a 160 stat, you'll need to this anyway to see any benefit from it.

Is the car idling low and missing or something? If so that could cause the low oil pressure.
As for temp make sure the radiator is clear of any debris and trash. Also make sure the air dam didn't come off the bottom of the car.
Could be a number of things but if it's just doing it in traffic like sit and go, then it's prob your fans.
