rattling in shifter?

rattling in shifter? so i've got a 2000 camaro ss...m6...and recently there has been a rattling vibrating noise coming from under the shifter boot at mid-range rpms, like above 3000rpm. i've also noticed that the shifter feels a lot looser and the handle moves around a lot while in gear. is there a spring or something that could have come loose or broken? thanks...also it still shifts fine it just feels loose
You should be nervous! If those bolts come out, you'll be having a bad time.
You should probably use thread locker on them. Normal lock washers didn't work for me. After disliking the mess with thread locker, I got some Nord-Lock washers for them: http://www.nord-lock.com/
They work perfect and don't make a mess.
