Exclamation Window motor?

Where is the best place to buy one? I'm thinking that's the problem. The window starts to move but then stops and I hear a clicking noise, but if I assist it and pull the window up it works normally. I'm thinking the motor no longer produces enough power to move the window on it's own.... But the weird thing is, if the window is all the way up and I push the button to make sure it is all the way up it I hear the clicking noise.

Thanks!

Hmmm not sure about the clicking noise, but the rest sounds like common f-body window motors. I have had 6 93-02 f-bodies and they always have atleast one bad window motor when I buy them. I buy all mine new from ebay and have never had a problem. I got to where I can remove panel, replace motor, and put panel back on in less than 30 min.

Autozone, get the dorman unit w/ lifetime warranty.....about $50-$60.

Also, do yourself a favor and get the autotrix kit too.

Dorman from Autozone is the way to go. They used to sell the Siemens motors there too, not sure if any still do. Either brand is great.

I agree 100%, like I said earler I have chaged atleast 6 window motors and they were all cheap ebay motors. Never had a single problem with either one of them.

Not sure. I've never had to replace one of those. But assuming the window goes up straight and isn't flopping around inside the door, I'd have to say that the regulator is probably fine. Usually it's the motors that go out on these (my regulator was fine at 97k miles when I replaced the motor).

I didn't bother matching the teeth up, I never even thought to do that. I just popped the new motor in, positioned it to where I could install and tighten the screws, then released the window. It dropped down about an inch, made full contact with the regulator, and rolled right up. No issues.

Here's the most popular write-up on this job:

I've had that happen before. The problem was 2 of the rivets that attached the window motor to the regulator had sheared themselves loose. The motor was basically hanging on with just one rivet. Sometimes it would make contact with the regulator enough to move the window, other times it didn't.

I just drilled out whatever remained of the broken rivets and replaced them with nuts and screws. Ended up costing like $.25 cents for the hardware and didn't have to replace the motor or regulator.

I did a write-up on here with pics and everything laying out how to repair the motor so it doesn't cut out anymore. It's free and will not fail later like the aftermarket motors seem to do after awhile.

Mines acting up too. From reading the two write ups above, I think it's a doable job.
