Default Unknown Noise

when i shift from park to drive my car makes an ugly noise that sound like its coming from the rear end some where. It also kicks out of it.
any one have an idea of what it might be?

if its coming from the rear end it could be a wheel bearing or a bearing inside the rear differential and also does it make the noise while youre driving or coasting or just shifting from park to drive?

im replacing an axle bearing on the passenger side. and it only makes that specific noise when i shift from park to drive and i just wanted to know if there was maybe something else wrong so that i could replace it while i was there.

this. to really check drive it very slow with no throttle then hit the gas a little and see if it clunks

yeah it does clunk. will i have to drain gear oil to do rear u joint?

if thats what your problem is yes. inspect your rear U joint first. you should be able to see if something is broken. also if its loose that also means something is broken.
