Car makes some strange sounds
Theres two sounds my car has been making lately. For starters, I don't drive it very often, rarely at best.
First noise is kind of a tinny rattling noise from around the engine, it persists and only goes away when I turn on the AC Not sure what that could mean. I wanted to get some ideas before I take it in and let some mechanic try to tell me some BS.
Second noise is a squeaking sound, doesn't sound like a fanbelt it just kind of persistently squeaks with the rhythm of the engine, it goes away for a bit then comes back.
Ill try to get a recording of it if I can, hopefully some of you guys have some ideas.

Doesn't sound like anything serious. In order of probability, I would guess:
a) Pullies are dry (4 of them).
b) Tensioner(s) are bad (2 of them).
c) Belts (2 of them).
d) although your A/C noise might also be caused by the A/C clutch, I would start with the pullies.
Pullies can be removed, disassembled and regreased. Search this site for detailed instructions.
