Default Cam or Crank sensor???

Car has not been cranking on first and even sometimes second turn, very embarassing ..ive tried everything that i know of from checking fuel pressure which is good..relays good.. battery, alternator, new starter..new plugs, wires, fuel system cleaner..ive narrowed it down to the cam or crank positioning sensor which a member brought to my attention..he said that the sensor can throw the ignition cycle off because it doesnt know what stroke the engine ended on therefore what to start it on..makes sense to me just dont know about where the sensors are located, where to buy(part #) and if it would matters if it has a cam swap(hot cam)..someone please enlighten me w/ your opinion..thanks

how many miles are on the car? what brand plugs and wires do you have? A good test is a compression test depending on miles, at least you can eliminate rings, or valves by that.
