'98 Firebird overheating
I dont know too much bout cars so this is whats happening. Got a brand new radiator put in and that kep it cool for a while. All of a sudden its running hot again. Went to get an Oil change and it was antifreeze in the oil.
What happens when i drive is it will start normal (about 180 degrees) then if im idle like sitting at a red light the temp will jump up to about 230 degrees (about the 3rd notch). Once i get moving again it will go back to 180 deg and fluctuate between 180 and 220 degrees. The mechanics i've talked to said its either a bad head gasket (i hope not) or a bad intake gasket.
Has anyone ever had this exact issue or possibly know what this kind of problem is? I hope its just a bad thermostat or water pump....anything other than head gasket
