Default Windshield wiperblade problem

My wiper blades only cover half of my windshield when they wipe, the drivers side leaves the bottom half of the windshield untouched, is this a common issue? And how should i fix it?

With the wipers ON, turn your key off and stop your wiper blades in the middle of the area NOT in contact with the blade.

Gently flex the wiper arm (at the end nearest to the blade) toward the glass, as well as away from the glass, and notice how the wiper blade reacts.

If, as I suspect, the blade contacts the glass MORE when the arm is bent slight away from the glass, then physically bend the wiper arm to this, new, fixed shape.

Or alot of guys upgrade their wipers to the newer 98-02 style and say they work better.
