Default battery tender ?'s.

I have a battery tender that has the round connectors. My question is: Can I just use the terminals that connect the battery to the car and put the battery tender connectors behind them and tighten them down on the battery? Will the battery tender hurt the cars computer?

I'm pretty sure that's what those are for. You can connect it any way your want as long as the connection is good.

I keep one on my 01 Z06 any time I am not driving it.

I realize u connect it right to your battery, but do you Unhook the positive and negative terminals, stick the round connectors from the tender on the threads and re-tighten them down? or do you have to unhook the battery completely from the car and buy new battery posts and do it that way?

Just hook it up if it will be a tight reliable connection with the factory bolts. If not, buy whatever you need, they sell all the stuff separately. It doesn't matter, it's just a battery charger.

I bought my BT new and use clamps on the top posts and the side bolts hold my vehicle cables. I use an Optima and it has both. But if all I had were the round connections, it would be a PITA to use unless I just hooked it up for the winter and left.

I think the OP is concerned because most of the tenders say to disconnect battery before charging/tending. With that said, I leave my battery hooked up and run a $7 tender from Harbor Frieght. It works just fine and I've never had any issues with electronics in the car being fried. Good luck.

I have a Deltran and was pissed because the ring terminals Do NOT fit the side post bolts of a gm side post battery, it would sure seem while they had good intentions someone at Deltran would have tested the ring terminals to fit under the bolts, my only solution was to cut theirs off and crimp on some new connectors or deltran sells an adapter you can plug into your cig lighter assuming your lighter stays hot when the key is off?
BTW-I used my deltran for the last few years with the optional clip on connectors.

Welcome! Another note. I don't start the car with the tender still attached. I always disconnect it first, then start the car.

I don't think it makes a crap whether you start it or not. Its likely a BS legal disclaimer or whatever. It never fried my 4 wheelers computer either.
