Default NEW Windshield installed for $155

i bought my 99 ws6 a little over a month ago and its had this whistle when i would do anything over 45, figured it was windows not sealing, it wasnt, then over the last few days of rain i kept finding water in my drivers floorboard... long story short, my windshield had been replaced at some point by a crack head and not only was it not sealed, IT WAS IN CROOKED.. so i got on craigslist in ft worth and found a guy who came to my house with NEW WINDSHIELD and NEW TRIM... he took out my old, (which pretty much fell out by the way).. and installed my new one in less than an hour.. holy ****...

just wanted to say something about this since others wanted nearly 3 times that much.. i am very happy..

at the very bottom edge of your windshield, right smack in the middle should be the mfgr and/or DOT number... post them and I'll tell you if you got a good deal

well everyone else was quoting me between 400 and 475 to install and i dont know if that price included trim.. i think i got a good deal considering i could only purchase the glass for 65 from manufacturer, if they let me buy from them.. plus the sealant... if anyone needs his info ill give it to them.. he was fast, clean and polite... works in DFW area

Bro....$155 is a steal. Great deal. Our windshields come with the moulding. A tube of urethane and a tape kit costs about $20.00. I'm not sure what Safelite charged State Farm for my windshield replacement because in Florida windshields get replaced for free under our state law, but I used to be an auto glass mechainc WAY back in 1989 for a couple years and $400 was the going rate then and its about the going rate today for that windshield. Shop around, maybe get it down to $300.

I'll second that; years ago when I found my windshield smashed I ended up paying about $400 to replace it...

i can post some pics of his install if you like, trust me guys.. i was skeptical but i talked to him about the cheap price.. he showed me what he paid for the glass.. $63.00.. was his cost, and its the same supplier as Eagle AutoGlass who quoted me over $400 to come to me and replace it. He said he worked for them until last February then started doing chip repair ($35 for most) and $145 for most windshields, mine was $155 cause our trim is just a little more...
