Default AHH broke a bolt :(. Help!

Hey everyone my car has definately seen better days. it has been leaking oil (well and power steering and coolant) lately. I figured it was the rear main seal and so i and a friend replaced the seal last week. got it all finished and started her up. but it still seemed to leak a little, less than it did tho! Well today i decide to get under the car and make sure all the oil pan bolts are tight. I decide to check the two bolts that pull the plate down on the back of the engine, and one is quite loose and the other is tight! yay i think and begin tightening it but it would not get tight!(oh shoot) then snap the bolt broke and fell out . I started up the car and it doesnt seem to be leaking ( at least anymore than it did) do you think i will be okay without this bolt? also could a shop drill the broke peice out without removing anything? thanks here is a pic

Hmm...I'm trying to picture what cover you're talking about. The flexplate cover?

The plate/cover that holds the rear main seal in the center. When you buy the rear main seal at a auto store it comes with this gasket also

it seems pretty accessable. you could probably get it out yourself no problem with a drill and an easy out

Good luck with that..considering those rear bolts are a good 5 inches long. If you are lucky it may not have broke off flush with the bottom of the rear cover. If the bolt wasnt getting tight then there is a good chance the hole is worn or stripped. These long bolts thread into the bottom of the rear cover. Since this is where the pan gasket usually leaks, I think that if you dont fix it, it will leak if it isnt already.
