You could just take the upper radiator hose off (at the radiator) and aim it down towards the ground to flush it out. As you put the water into the top of the radiator with the hose and run the engine the hose on high will keep up with how fast it flows out. Do that for 15-20 minutes and you'll have a 100% clean system.

You need to do it with a stone cold engine and you have to remove the t-stat so it can keep flowing from the start and for the entire 15-20 minutes.

Not sure how to pull an engine plug, never had to do that to perform a complete flush.

Easier just to pull the heater hose off the water pump.....will come out cold or hot and empty the engine quick.

Will the coolant/water be able to return back to the radiator though......or will it just dump right there?

If it doesn't return to the upper radiator hose you can't flush the system for 15-20 minutes....which is how long takes to get all the crap out of the block.

Proper flush would be pulling the drain plugs out of the block and drain the rad. Refill with DISTILLED water and run till warm then drain everything again and refill with coolant.

I like to just open up my drain line I installed on my radiator (its huge and gushes coolant out, I don't use that tiny petcock drain), take the t-stat out, put the hose in there and let it run for 15 minutes straight till clear water runs out. Easier than opening and closing it up a bunch of times, cause it takes alot of fills and dumps to truly get all the old crap out.

I have an LT1 radiator so I had that extra port........so I installed a huge flush line on it. Makes it so easy to flush my entire system by simply removing my t-stat (3 minutes) and jamming a hose in it.....let it run. Done.
See the hose in the picture with the white valve on it.

I'll second that; biggest waste of the afternoon for me. OP like the others have said pull the t-stat and flush water through. You could pop the drain plugs in the block, but you should still run clean water through the system...
