Tonight when I got off work, I started my car and started to drive off. My interior lights wouldn't turn off. This happens sometimes, and I have to open and close my door, and they usually turn off. Well this time they stayed on. They were on the entire way home, which was irritating as hell.

When I got home and parked, I turned the car off, got out, closed the door, and hit the "lock" button on my remote. Usually, when I do this the lights turn off instantly. This time they stayed on. I checked on my car every few minutes, and after about 20 minutes, they finally turned off.

Any idea how to fix this? It's extremely annoying.

sometimes when i'm sitting in the car, key turned off but still in the ignition listening to the radio, my dome light will randomly flash one and off. that's the only time it does it but it's just annoying. hopefully somebody'll have an answer.

That's exactly what mine do! It's like the car's possessed, I was told it was possibly the door position sensor but I haven't managed to find a replacement.

This is a common problem - but usually not a mechanical one. 99% of the time, the dimmer switch for the interior lights are on.

do you mean people don't know their dimmer switch is switched on? or that the switch is messed up? i know mine's off and my dome light still flickers a little.

Both. Usually people have it on and don't realize it. Testing the switch is easy enough. Just unplug it and see what happens.
