Default This is window motor failure, and not the relay, correct?

The window started only going up & down 3/4 the way then after a minute would go all the way. Then got to only 1/2 both ways, still waiting a few minutes would go the rest of the way. Then barely would go up or down at a given time without minutes of rest inbetween. Towards the end it would take an hour to get it up or down without pushing/pulling on it. Window motor failure/burnout correct?

change the motor. go to autozone and get the window motor for like 50 bucks. comes with lifetime warranty. search for shoebox write up on here. I did mine not too long ago. Its a easy fix, GL!

Well actually you could repair your old motor if you are handy. All thats wrong is there is high resistance in the electrical breaker circuit inside the motor. Bypass it or repair it and the motor will function like new again. Do a search there is info about on the forum.

Classic thermal switch failure - you should change the motor. Go for the Dorman model - its a new design.

The only thing i'm not sure about now is re installing the motor. I already have it out and attempted to reinstall a new one, without success i might add

you may need to power the motor a little to turn the gear so it lines up so you can get your screws in.

Not really just line up the bolts holes and stick the bolts in and put the nuts on.

Recommend not doing the "fix." Its not worth it. If you buy new, you can get an improved design and a lifetime warranty.

Just think about it. There must be a reason GM put that thermal resistor in the motor, right? Maybe its so the motor doesn't overload the door and rip the (relatively weak) fiberglass panels to shreds?

It just makes a bad motor look better. It doesn't actually fix or repair anything with the motor.

I attempted the "fix" and had my radio powering on and off when i hooked it back up. I guess my question now guys is where/ what motor to get? I thought the ones you can pick up from autozone weren't a direct fit or something like that? i'm so tired of not having a door panel & this stupid window
