Default Willa leaky oil pan gasket casue oil to reach the clutch?

Putting a new clutch in my LT1 F-body and I am seeing grime on the greasy flywheel and in the bell housing but not really in liquid oil. It can only be excessive grease slung from the pilot and TOB or oil spray from the back of the pan where there is some leaking going on.

Can oil from the leaking pan gasket end up in the bell housing area and ultimately onto the clutch?

If so, I will eventually replace the gasket but not right away. Can I RTV the inspection plate on and plug up that rectangular slot on the bottom of the BH to seal it all up?

That is possible I suppose, but the more likely cause is leaky crankshaft rear seal.
