Default Noise after struts..

Whenever I go over bumps or uneven road it sounds like someone put a rock in a plastic container and is moving the container up and down real fast and making the rock hit the container..

Dunno try to be discriptive.. Anywyas sounds like something is bottoming out..

any ideas.. my buddy at a shop said that it could be the rubber bussings in the mount.. car is 8 years old.. could this be??

Do you have an f-bod? Anyway, after I did shocks on mine, i had a similar noise. Turned out that the top nut that secures the shock to the upper mount was not tightened enough.

Bad news is you have to remove the whole damn assembly to get to the nut.

Good news is that it fixed (my) problem.

well I might as well buy the 9 dollar insulators and replace them as well but I hope that is the problem doesnt too big of a deal I wont be able to get around to doing it till saturday wonder if its damaging anything..

I guess this is what happens when you trust your buddy to tighten nuts..

Take a real close look at your upper shock mounts, mine looked ok but after much frustration, i figured out the rubber was cracked and letting the shock move around, also make sure the nut at the top is tightened down all the way.

yea so got back around to messing with it this weekend,, I fixed the noise on the passenger side by tightening the nut and then installed the driver side.

went down the road and heard the same noise the passenger side was making earlier took it back apart made sure the nut was tight on that side and put it back together..

Looks like ill be buying two new mounts and the absorbers and just say f it all and make sure its right.. Toms I was looking at those mounts and part numbers the driver side looks different or mabey im not that observant and they are different but the looked the same when i was taking them off.. oh well that autoparts store you posted its cheaper then the local autoparts store same mout is 60 at auto zone and 17..

oh yea does it have the bottom part that you spring sits into their picutre does it no justice..
