Default What should my idle rpm be???

I have a auto 98 Trans Am and want to know what should the idle be ??? I believe it is a tad high. thanks

500-600.

At start up itll be like at 900 for a bit.

The higher the RPM the harder the engagement from N to D or Reverse.... Unless you have heads and cam a higher than stock idle would not be needed I do not think...

I have a cam and think thats why the car seems to idle higher. I think i need to get it tuned. Runs awesome but idles pretty high
