car lurches

car lurches

95 T/A lurches from around 5-15 mph. Any ideas? Also, it has quite a bit of exhaust smoke.... Thanks for any input.

manual? what gear u in when its lurching? or is it auto trans? ses light on? need more specific info!

Manual I believe it did it in first two gears. Ses light always on. O2s deleted

Are your rpm's jumping up on their own when this lurching happens? If YES....there is only one thing it can be......IAC valve. Only way an engine can jump in rpm's on their own (other than a clutch letting loose, then re-engaging on its own somehow) is if more air is entering the intake somehow. No other way.

If you have a clutch issue, thats another story.

Whats the codes????

Well if the 02's are deleted but the SES is still on then there're other problems to address...

how fast you going??? what axel gear ratio you running??? if your under 25mph in 2nd gear then you may incounter some lurching. 02 deleted! I'm sure your talking about cats 02 delete right?
