Default idle sensor?

Mods in sig.

kinda hard to start recently, turns over and hit near 2000rpms, and came down below 1000
It usually idles at 900. No check engine light, no codes, doesnt die or anything, thoughts?

There is no sensor for idle, but there is an idle air control valve. Pull it out and clean it see if that helps. Also, and this has nothing to do with your concern, but that 160 thermostat may be a little low for a stock engine.

The PCM's in our cars are not that good really. A bad or failing IAC valve does not always show a code until its completely frozen and dead.

Only one way an engine can rev past normal that much while in PARK or in Nuetral (M6)......IAC valve is wigging out and letting too much air in on start up.

I'd clean all your front sensors. MAF, IAT sensor in the lid, TB blade and the IAC valve. Be careful with the IAC valve, just unscrew it, spray it, put it back. If it flys apart, you could be screwed. It can go back together, but sometimes it won't.

Also...why on earth do you have an idle rpm of 900 for the mods you have?

actually just on a cold start it will sit at 900 and after it sits or I drive it for a little bit it, it'll drop to about...650 or below.

Oh...ok. Shouldn't do that either though. Maybe you have a dirty MAF.

Mine is set to idle at 925, when I start it cold, it goes up to about 1100 for about 15 seconds, then starts to come right down to 925 while it warms up.
