SeaFoam? your take? Need some advice, I am about to pick up my first F-Body in another week or so, the car is a 2002 B4C from CHP, the car has over 200,000 miles on it everything is still going good on it, the water pump was just replaced (with in the last 3 or 4 thousand miles) then head gaskets are probably up for a change.
I want to do a tune-up on it when i get it (coolant flush, oil change, air filter w/lid etc.) and I was thinking about seafoaming it before hand and i wanted your take on it
What is your take on using Seafoam on a LS1 with over 200,000 miles on it?
I'm really excited to finally have a Camaro, I've always wanted one since 7th grade, now i have one and i want to keep it running at its best

Ive used it on my Camaro worked great. And use it once a year
Tried it ONE time in my T/A this past summer, boy did it make it run like crap, and for about a week. Never again will I use it on my T/A.

I used Seafoam and it worked for me without a hitch. I wanted to try the rivaling MCCC, but my engine blew and I replaced it with an LS6 instead! 
I would still try it though to see how it worked. It SOUNDS better than Seafoam, but I can't confirm actual results.

Op, use your seafoam it will be great. I use it on all my cars and always have. Used it my my 155k+ beater car civic, all ls1 cars, and cars before that. Oh and yes, I even tried MCCC and it was the only one to kill an o2 sensor and give me missfires. Just giving the facts of "MY" experience.

^ Inferiority complex? Just kidding man. But with 200k+ already on the car....I don't know how much of its "high performance" will last. That raises another interesting question. How many miles has your LS1 or LT1 gone without having to overhaul it? Mine popped a little over 100k. I wasn't the owner then bought it after they completely overhauled it.

I can't prove it's bad. It does clean your engine very well. But my ls1 blew shortly after I used it... Only 107k miles.
If you want to clean it up go for it.. I'm not convinced I felt a difference though... Other than the loud knock that started haha...

First off this is a boat engine not a car but just relaying the info. A boat mechanic friend hated the stuff because it was so strong that it would knock crap off the gas tank and that stuff would run through the engine causing more problems. Two days before though I saw a guy in the parts store buying it and he swore up and down by it. I guess its just one of those deals where it works great for some people and not so hot for others.
I used it on my LS1 with about 60k. Honestly it made my car noticeably better. I'm usually not for gimmicks but i took my father for a ride before and after, and he was like "my god what did you do" and then i told him all i did was seafoam. I used to have a slight lowend throttle hesitation, that was almost entirely cured.
I also couldnt believe the cloud of black smoke that poured out afterward.
