Fresh-faded 95 chevy

hey... i have a 1995 caprice classic lt1 and i have changed spark plugs and wires new distributor and all and my car still backfires.... It will crank straight up and run good as i began to drive off it will putt and the backfire... then check engine light comes on and it runs like it should help please asap
