So i just got a 99 trans am ls1 about a week ago.

Been trying to figure out what the problem is, when i step on the gas hard i hear a slight clicking noise, NOT when cruising not when normal driving and not when i am sitting still and rev just when i am getting on it pretty good it will make this noise.

I had another car a while back that would make a similar but much louder noise all the time and it was a bad lifter to give you a idea of the sound but its really faint and like i said it only does it when i really get on it.

Could it be a lifter about to go out or what??

Is it constant,,does it keep doing it as long as you are accelerating, or is it just an initial clicking noise?

 

no its not all the way through just kinda in the mid rpms.. area
after about 4500 i dont hear it anymore but it is a very quiet noise to begin with.
