Default Vibration

I've had this vibration that I start noticing around 120kph and gets a bit worse going faster from there. It feels like it is coming from the back end. everything is fine at slow speed though.

I just changes my suspension, got an alignment, and balanced my wheels. I am looking for some ideas so that I can get this sorted out.

First you really need to figure if its coming from the front or the back.. Check your wheel and axle bearings for slop.

It seems to be coming from the back. Is there any good way to check which bearings it could be?

I feel it in the seat..

The front driver wheel bearing had a bit of a noise to it so I ordered so e front bearings. My mechanic said the ujoint seemed ok.

Tell me more about these pinion bearings? I was doing 200kph today and it felt like I was riding a blender.

Pinion bearings seem like an unlikely cause if you aren't hearing any rear end noise at slow speeds but its not impossible.

If the tires and wheels are really balanced then I would look to axles being bent or like RARON said bearings causing play in the axles, sometimes they don't crop up until higher speeds.

I would really hate to replace the rear axle. It's really driving me nuts though and it's one of those things that seems to be hard to pinpoint.

What would I only notice at such a high speed?

Hit any big potholes lately? I had 3 bent rims (2 front, 1 back) when I bought my car and 60+ mph was almost unbearable to drive, even a small bend in one of your back 2 wheels could also cause a vibration like that. More than likely that is not the issue but just fyi

if the vibration started after the changes then your problem is with your mechanic. my was vibrating due to a loose/broken trans mount

My suspension was so bad that getting up to that speed wasn't even possible, the car felt like it was going to lift upmoff the ground and fly away..
