Default ac compressor

Well, summers coming.... and I don't want to go without ac like I did last summer. My ac compressor is bad and I need a new one. My question is... what is the best bang for the buck ac compressor I can buy without draining my wallet... I'm on a low budget now and cannot help it. Ac delco is like 300 bucks but I've seen a few for 150 I just didn't know if they would be worth it so I figured I would take a shot and ask you guys who have had them and what not and see what your expirience on what brand. I wouldn't mind not having it... but as it is my daily driver I could use it. Any info would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

I AM DEFINATELY SPEAKING FROM EXPERIENCE HERE,,, Dont buy a cheap compressor they are junk and most wont last a year,, Sometimes you have to bite the bullet and pay higher for OEM parts. An AC compressor is one of those things unfortunately. In my experience I have had parts store compressors and the best one only lasted a year, I dont know why this is but it has been the case. Get an OEM and make sure it has the recommended oil and amount in it.

I agree, I'd go with new oem from my experiences. Did a whole ac system rebuild once on a Ranger and the shop might as well been married to the owner, they were there all the time. Save up until you have enough to buy a new oem part. I wouldn't get a reman.

I need the same thing. I put the ac back on my car this past fall, pulled a vacuum, and charged it. Everything was good, but I guess the compressor that had been sitting in a box 3 years didn't like 6500rpm and blew the seal around the shaft. Someone on ebay was offering remans with a 6 month warranty for around $100 or so. They're almost $300 for one at Advance....I'll probably look around on here for someone parting a car out.
