How to change coolant..
I plan in using dexcool or
whatever it's called..
Sorry ,Search doesn't want to work on my cell....
1. open draincock and drain as much as will come out.
2. fill with water and let the car run with the draincock open but keeping the rad cap off and using a water hose to keep it topped off.(basically trying to get nothing but fresh water in the system).
3. pour a bottle of radiator flush in and let it cycle through per the directions on the bottle.
4. after that, drain it again, repeating step 2.
5. after that, it's flushed. just put fresh water and antifreeze in it and make sure to get all the air out of the system.
6. park on a slight incline and let the car run with the heater on full blast with the rad cap off and keep it topped off with water.
7. for the next few days, keep an eye on the coolant. add water if necessary.
i didn't take my thermostat out, but it's probably a good idea to when your flushing it. also, some people have problems with dex-cool so you may want to switch to conventional coolant. i've never had a problem with it, but i switched to avoid future problems amd conventional is cheaper/more common.
