Weird hesitation/misfire at 5k rpm?!
Hey guys..I have a 2000 trans am m6 and i just started getting a misfire or hesitation at 5k rpms...The other day i did a pretty nasty burnout and 2 mins after i went to take off, and at 5-5500 rpm it seems to be misfiring or hesitating..there is no check engine light..no weird sounds or anything like i might of screwed up my engine..everything seems normal. I was thinking if it could be just a tune up? Or maybe my clutch is starting to slip at high rpms?
My car is bone stock other than a functioning ram air intake..slp loudmouth and an ls2 clutch.
please help me!

i had the same prob with my 99 ss under hard acceleration at 5k rpm and at 5500 it cleared up alittle turns out that it was a few of my lifters loseing pressure at high rpm letting the lifters were jumping up and down on the cam which ended up running a grove around the lobes.. i found out for sure when i had my tsp cam installed.. hope this isent whats wrong with your car its not really a cheap fix but it may lead you in the right direction
