Need some help with coolant leak, anyone?

Default Need some help with coolant leak, anyone?

Finally got a chance to take the car out for a spin. After an hour or so and reaching to operating temp, My car has been leaking coolant from the resovior cap. The only thing i can think of is the t-stat not openeing up? Any suggestions?

From the overflow tank? If so, a bad head gasket is a common cause. First thing to do is pressure test the coolant system.

I am going to swap out the thermostat first and see if that does anything. I really hope its not a blown head gasket.

The thermostat has noting to do with pressure in the system.

You should be able to rent a pressure tester from your local auto parts store for free.
