Default What is the name is of this part????

while changing my spark plugs i noticed this little sensor looking thing was broken and barely hanging on.....i pushed it back up in the and it looks fine, not throwing any codes but i figure i should replace it......only thing is i don't know what it is or what it does.....it's on the driver's side, right above the #1 cylinder spark plug, just below the shitty 806 head casting number

It is the block temp sensor. Don't break it. You can unplug it while you change plugs but make sure to plug it back in afterwards

its a coolant temp sensor. 97-98 was different from the 99-02. remember that.
