Dash lights not working??? Help!!
I was driving the other bight and hit a bump and my dash nights stopped working and it's blowing fuses now. Before this the after market cd would shut off and and eventually come back on but still had power when I hit the the display button it would light up but the cd player and everything else wouldnt work. Also I have a full system in my car two tens two amps and 6.5 kickers all the way around wired to one of the two amps any help would be appreciated

you have an electrical short somewhere, and probably a pretty serious one at that. go through EVERY inch of your system wiring first, as most electrical problems occur within owner added equipment, whether as a result of a minor mistake becoming serious over time, or a general lack technical skill (here I'm referring to my car, jack *** before me screwed EVERYTHING up, once I pulled all his garbage out, my electrical system works perfectly) after you've gone through all that, consider removing the wiring for your system, as the problem may be within the components themselves (unlikely, but I prefer to try the easy fixes first) assuming this still does not fix it, begin checking all the grounds (oem ones at this point)

After you've checked all the system grounds, you begin the annoying *** process of circuit checking to find a short.
remove negative terminal, insert test light between terminal and cable, if the light comes on, you have a short. pull fuses from the engine bay fuse box until the light goes out, I'd suggest removing all of them and then replacing them one at a time untill the light comes back on, it is possible to have a multi circuit short.
once you have identified the circuit with the primary short, look up a wiring schematic which shows the interior fuse box fuses that are linked to that circuit, then remove those fuses following the same procedure above. once this is done, you now have the happy job of going through all the wiring on the respective circuits trying to find the short.
