Coolant Blowing Out Of The Overflow
jetaws6 - So when you bought the car... the thermostat was normal and the needle pointed straight up? And then after your head swap, the needle started hanging around a lower temperature? That seems odd to me - I'd wonder if the coolant sensor might be bad and not triggering the fans to come on.

I think I looked at that but I might have looked at the wrong thing. The crossover pipe on the heads is on the top fitting right below the rad cap and the overflow hose is on the one right below that?
iirc..i had this problem when the car was turned off and the 2 hoses that go th the fittings on the radiator right below the radiator cap were on backwards...the overflow line goes to the upper fitting, the lower fitting goes to the engine steam pipe.

When you pull over, are your radiator fans running? If they aren't kicking on when the system gets hot, that could be the cause of your issue.
You have a blown head gasket if you ask me. And Yes, sometimes the piston will push air into the cooling system on the upstroke (power stroke) ALLOT more than it gulps coolant on the downstroke. So blowing white smoke is not always present.
If you do the easier/free coolant system pressure check.......you still need to remove all 8 spark plugs in case a cylinder fills with coolant through the blown gasket leak. Make sure you don't start the car with coolant sitting in a cylinder. Turn the3 engine over for a few seconds with the3 plugs still out to get enough out so you don't hydralock the engine and damage internal parts.
